Rector Mutelo

Chairman of Advisory Board & CEO

Mr. Mutelo is an entrepreneur and he is the former Corporate Communications and Marketing Executive for Nedbank Namibia. He spent 24 years in the broadcasting industry, 18 of which were at the NBC where he served as General Manager for Radio Services, Technical Services and finally as General Manager for Corporate Marketing, Communication and Business Development. Mr. Mutelo transformed the radio, technical services, marketing and sales departments into powerful broadcasting entities. He holds a Masters degree in Management from Boston University (USA).

Nangula Hamunyela

Executive Director

Nangula has extensive executive management experience and is the former Managing Director at Engen Namibia Pty Ltd, the rapidly growing African petroleum products company with leading share of the Namibian market, was charged with the challenging task of maintaining market position and leading the company’s next phase of growth. She is also the former MD of Nedloans – Nedbank’s personal loans division in Namibia. Ms Hamunvela has a BCom degree (University of the North) and an MBA from the Maastricht School of Management, focusing on corporate strategy and business developmnet.

Heikki Jutila

Non-Executive Director

Heikki has 36 years experience in Upstream Oil and Gas and he is technical director of Phoenix RDS, a specialist upstream oil and gas, subsurface consultancy, providing a full range of subject matter expertise. Through immersion in technology, innovation, and fundamental engineering practices. Phoenix RDS develop and deliver optimised reservoir solutions for full life cycle of oil and gas developments.. He is a Petroleum Reservoir Engineer with extensive experience in the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry since 1982. He is experienced in all aspects of petroleum engineering from the well-site to managing complex integrated subsurface studies. He has developed innovative workflows for value quantification.

Heikki has experience in managing start-up oil and gas companies and negotiation with host governments on fiscal terms for exploration and production sharing agreements. He has a deep understanding of cross-industry integration between facilities manufacturers and upstream. Heikki specialises in leading innovation teams, uncertainty quantification, optimization under uncertainty and simulation of complex reservoirs. He is a technical expert in reservoir engineering both classical and numerical, oil and gas economics evaluation and uncertainty quantification.

He is active in the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) serving on various committees and technical sections Europec, R&D Technical Section). He is member of European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (ESGE), Society of Decision Professionals (SDP). He has authored a number of technical; papers on uncertainty and optimisation and flow control devices.

Stuart Ernest Munro

Non-Executive Director

Stuart has over 40 years International Oil Industry experience in Exploration Geology and Geophysics has ensured a wide range of skills in most aspects of exploration and production. 18 years of experience in Latin America, dealing with government authorities and regulatory frameworks as well as representing company in partner meetings and setting up company offices in foreign locations.

On a technical front, particularly strong in seismic interpretation, integrating geological databases and the development of original play concepts. During his career has worked on over 80 basins, representing a wide range of structural settings, from simple extensional tectonics, salt basins, overthrust mountain fronts to strike-slip basins and is familiar with current concepts in seismic stratigraphy and workstation based interpretation. Was a consultant from 1983 to 2002 and is totally fluent in Spanish and French.

In 1992 he founded the company EPOCA, in Venezuela, with the goal of providing national and international companies in Venezuela access to an integrated geophysical/geological consultancy of the highest calibre. Since 2002 has worked extensively in international New Ventures. Combination of business and technical skills including experience in Monte Carlo Analysis with Crystal Ball and GeoX software in evaluating potential business ventures.

Rory Somerset

Non-Executive Director

Rory is MD of Phoenix RDS and a Petroleum Engineer specialising in drilling and completion fluids. He has 21 years’ global oil industry experience, having started his career with Baker Hughes where he held numerous positions including operational, business development and marketing, business management, supervisory and leadership roles. Rory has an extensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience of HTHP, ERD, gas storage, CTD, deep water, MPD and Well P&A. He is a wellbore fluids expert with an in-depth understanding of fluid/ rock interactions for drilling & production optimisation and a broad understanding of well design, project management and cost control.

Rory holds a BSc (Hons) in Geology with Oceanography from the University of Southampton.
